My Story
Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m the founder & principal designer at Rebecca Hay Designs a nationally published, award-winning, 7-figure residential design firm. But it wasn’t always this way…
When I first started out in the design industry felt intimidated and insecure. How could I ever measure up to other designers? I couldn’t even get a job at first, working part-time in a restaurant (Shout out to Earls on Fir Street!) and part-time assisting at a home staging firm. It seemed like a very long road to any kind of success.
When I finally took the leap into running my own business after years of being a Designer’s Assistant, it was very lonely. I felt overwhelmed. I continually second-guessed myself, and I had a persistent sense that I wasn’t good enough. I stood in my own way and made everything harder than it needed to be. I knew that there had to be a better way.
Along the way, I made designer friends and we helped each other. I discovered that building my own design firm was not at odds with helping others build theirs. We were stronger together.
And now, I’m committed to helping other design firm owners grow and scale with confidence through the power of community.

Why did I create this membership?
Where it all began
As you know, back in 2018 I started simply wanting to get local designers together in person to connect and talk shop. And so, I organized Designer meet-ups here in Toronto. Those meet-ups quickly evolved into virtual meet-ups, a podcast, multiple courses, and this beautiful community.
Heading forward…
Designers Room is set to be the premier destination in our industry, perhaps even globally.
What does that mean?
I’m expanding access to Designer’s Room beyond my Power of Process students, allowing design firm owners at various business stages to join our community.
